Seven days. Four real lessons. Zero filler.
Each morning for one week, a short video and a one-page worksheet lands in your inbox. Watch it in the barn on your phone, practice it that day, and notice what changes by sunset.

Day 1
Read your horse like a sentence
The three signals every horse is sending before, during, and after you ask for something — and the one most owners misread for years.
12 min video · 1 page worksheet -
Day 2
The pressure you didn't know you had
Why the way you breathe, stand, and look away is louder than any rope halter. A simple audit you can run on yourself in five minutes.
14 min video · 1 page worksheet -
Day 3
Release on the try
The single timing adjustment that turns a braced, pulling horse into one that offers. Practiced at the standstill first, so you can feel it before you ride it.
16 min video · 1 page worksheet -
Day 4
The first honest conversation
A short groundwork sequence you can finish in under twenty minutes that gives your horse a clear, fair answer to the question, "Are you listening to me?"
18 min video · 1 page worksheet
Days 5–7 are a recap, a troubleshooting clinic for the three most common "stuck" moments, and a quiet letter from Maren on what to do with the week once it's done.
What owners noticed by the end of the week.
"I'd owned my mare for nine years and thought I knew her. By day three of the Foundation I was watching her breathe instead of bracing, and she watched me back. It was the first week in a decade that didn't end in an argument."
"I'm a returning rider after fifteen years off. I was terrified I'd ruined my gelding by not knowing what I was doing. The Foundation didn't promise to fix us — it gave us a language. Two months later he loads in a calm walk."
Yes, if this sounds like your week at the barn.
This Foundation is for you if…
- You own or half-lease a horse and do most of the care and riding yourself.
- You've tried bits, gadgets, or "natural" methods that still felt like force in a softer wrapper.
- You want a step-by-step method you can run on a weekday evening, not a weekend clinic.
- You'd rather understand why your horse does what he does than just make him stop.
- You can give seven mornings (or evenings) to a short, honest practice.
It probably isn't, if…
- You're looking for a competition-ready sport-horse program in seven days.
- You want a trainer to ride your horse for you — we teach you to train.
- You're interested in a dominance, "make him move his feet" framework. That's not our language.
- You're hoping for a specific behavior timeline for your individual horse — we won't promise one, and neither should anyone.
Four questions owners ask us first.
- Is this really free, and what happens after the seven days?
- The 7-Day Foundation is free, with no credit card and no trial that turns into a charge. After the week, you'll get a short note from us once or twice a month — usually when we publish a new lesson, an article, or a free clinic. You can unsubscribe in one click from any email, and we honor it on the same day.
- How much time do I need each day, really?
- About twenty minutes for the video, five for the worksheet, and ten to fifteen minutes in the barn with your horse — short on purpose so you can fit it in before or after work. If you miss a day, the next email picks up where you left off.
- I'm a beginner — or I've been riding for decades. Will this be too easy or too advanced?
- The Foundation was built for amateur and returning riders, which is most of our student body. Beginners get the right starting habits; experienced riders usually catch one timing mistake that's been costing them for years. If it's not for you after the first two days, we mean it — unsubscribe and keep what you learned.
- Is this "natural horsemanship" — and will it ask me to dominate my horse?
- No, and no. We don't use the word dominance as a training framework, and neither does our curriculum. Everything in the Foundation is built on pressure, release, and timing — what the IAABC certifies as low-stress handling. If a technique ever asks you to scare, hurt, or "outlast" your horse, it isn't ours.

One short email a day for seven days. That's the whole commitment. Watch at the barn, on the couch, or anywhere your horse can't see your phone.
